The Young ... and the Not So!

Scottish Junior Championships

A number of our junior members and associates have been competing up in Aberdeen this weekend.

Tasha Aitken skipped her young team, with sister Karina playing lead stones, all the way to the final where she came up against the reigning world championship-winning team skipped by Hannah Fleming.  They came up short against the all-conquering Fleming team but it is nonetheless a huge achievement to get as far as they did.

Gina Aitken and Becca Kesley were also skipping teams in the championships and both finished on a 3-4 record.

Strathcona Cup

Meanwhile over in Canada, Joe Barry and Dave Munro are entering the last week of their three-week tour.  They are both on the east tour and you can follow their results and progress here.  As I write this on Sunday night, the east tour are beating the Canadians by 863 to 730.  The other two tours are going well as well, so it looks as if our chaps are going to be part of a winning team.
