Tom Holmes Competition - 8th March 2026

The 'prestigious' Tom Holmes trophy was played for on the 8th of March. This event is a favourite of many club members (myself included) due to its unusual format. More information about the Tom Holmes can be found in the Tom Holmes tab at the top of the website, but essentially, if you have skipped and won the trophy, you can no longer skip. This means that there can be people who have never skipped in their whole playing career playing with 3 others who may have skipped for many years. The games are short and fun, with players supporting those less confident in the house. Then there's a meal after, what more to love!

Lymphoy Round 7 Complete, and end of C&B's season! - 27th March

Well, just like that the 2025/2026 season is over! The final round of the Lymphoy, that must have been one of the closest competitions in years, saw all 8 teams out on the ice on the 27th of March.

Out of the 4 games, 1 game had the chance to change who won the competition. In my last blog, I mentioned how 3 teams could have won the competition this year. Team Steven, Team Barr or Team Clark. Clark won her game, which was what she had to do to keep her in the loop, which made the game against Barr and Steven even more exciting!

With Steven himself playing in Stranraer that weekend, it was third Niall Gunn that took the head with 3 subs making up the rest of his team. They were up against Barr's full team! What ensued was a very close game! All even at 6 all in end 7, Team Steven got a 1 in the 8th to got 7-6 up, winning the game and the Lymphoy Cup.
