Congratulations to Dave Munro, Fran Stretton/ Gina Aitken, Lois Copland and Josh Kellock, Winners of the Kettle TrophyWell, it was a simple task on paper for Niall Gunn, Raymond Preston, Betty Gibb and substitute Stuart Ronald - win by a barrowload and four ends, or win by five ends. Susan Kesley had other ideas! She is on a rich vein of form at the moment and on more than one occasion played a clinker of a shot to bail her team out. Susan, Robin Copland, Joe Barry and Megan Priestley were two up coming home and managed to steal a further two shots to make the score look a bit flattering. They finished up in fourth place in the league but, more importantly from Dave Munro's point of view, knocked out one of his main contenders for the Kettle Trophy.
John Steven, Maggie Barry, Norman Nicol and Anne Anderson come from behind to win the Harlaw CupAs noted in last week's post, John Steven was too far behind on ends to mount a realistic challenge for the Kettle Trophy, but he was very much in contention for the Harlaw Trophy, so he and his team of Maggie Barry, Norman Nicol and Richie Anderson, subbing for Anne, had a weather eye on the game next door. They had become team Kesley's most ardent fans as they batted back and forth with team Gunn! In the meantime, they were doing enough themselves to win their own game against Mike Wood's team, skipped in Mike's absence (get well soon, Mike) by Andrew Galloway.
Here's the final and completed results grid
and now the final league table

A great league competition with three teams in contention until the last round - let's hope that the second half is even better.
A Merry Christmas and a Guid New Year to one and all.
