Jenny Barrs All-comers with a Win in the Final Round!

Jenny Barr, Raymond Preston, Gina Aitken and Sheena Munro Win the Lymphoy Trophy

Jenny and co had a tougher game than they perhaps expected when Robin's team turned up with Shona Watt in the head and not the bold boy himself.  He was away on dinner duty at the Haddington CC Annual Soiree (note to committee: a good idea, this, to have an annual soiree!) and a tight game ensued.

All seemed in control until some slack play allowed a score of 4 in end four, but normal order was resumed thereafter and they closed out  the game 8-4 to the food and with a healthy six ends scored against Shona's one.

Andrew Galloway was having his own travails against a rejuvenated Andrew Barr, who ran out 15-1 winners and effectively relegated the Galloway foursome to third place in the league.

John Steven, Catriona Still, Susan MacFarlane and Francis Kennedy secure second spot and the Glenbrook Quaich

John, who has had an in-and-out competition has come from under the radar to secure second spot in the league.  He had a good win in an eight-end game with Bob Barr, skipping in Susan's absence.  His five ends to Andrew Galloway's one in the final game drove the nail into Andrew's coffin.

Finally Brian and Katie played out (another!) 5-5 draw; it is amazing how many drawn games there have been in this league.

So - here is look at the final table in as close a league as we have had for many a year.  Congratulations to Jenny and co who pulled away at the end of the competition.  Congratulations also to John Steven on his "below the radar" low flight to second place and the Glenbrook Quaich.  The others can only look on in envy and rue their missed chances!
