An interesting night.
Susan continued her late charge with a good win over John. She joins him, Andrew Barr and Brian on six points, but has an all-important game in hand. Two games to go and a possible ten points. She has Brian and Andrew B to play though - a tough run-in and a few ends behind Andrew G. Realistically, the Lymphoy might be just about out of reach, but the Glenbrook is still there for the taking.
Katie was absent - the draw of India proved too great! In her absence, brother Mike had an impressive win, moving them to seven points. This is the only team that can overhaul the still-undefeated Andrew Galloway on points for the winner's spot and the Lymphoy trophy. Interestingly, they still have each other to play. Andrew's other game is against Andrew Barr. This league isn't over just yet. Let's suppose that Katie beats both Andrew and John Steven; then the game between Andrew G and Andrew B suddenly takes on a new slant! Worst case scenario for Andrew G is second place, though; his win tonight secured at least runners-up spot and the Glenbrook Quaich.
Now that think about it, there are plenty of folk still in with a shout for runners-up - actually everyone except Jenny and Bob. For them, the war is over!
