AGM and Prize-Giving 30th April 2025

Currie and Balerno CC's AGM was held on the 30th of April at Currie Rugby Club. The meeting was chaired by President Betty Gibb, who passed over to new president Kerry Clark, with Jenny Barr and Dave Munro filling out the top table. Trophies and prizes from the season were handed out after the AGM has wrapped.

The Winners from the 24/25 season were as follows:

Kettle: Karen Munro, Josh Kellock, Lois Copland and David Aitken

Harlaw Cup: Shona Watt, Dave Munro, Joe Barry and Stuart Ronald

Doubles: Vicky Gumley and Lois Copland

Points Shield: Dave Munro

Butter Dish (runner up): Kerry Clark

Rosebank Cup (Ladies points): Kerry Clark

Tom Holmes: Ally Henry, Graham Paterson, Kim Dalland and Francis Kennedy

Lymphoy Cup: Kerry Clark, Jenny Barr, Ally Henry and Allan MacLennan

Glenbrook Quaich: Mike Wood, Katie Wood, Kate Torrance and Stuart Ronald

Club Achievement Award: David Aitken

The award for most ends won went to Mike Wood's team in the Lymphoy competition with an impressive 54 out of a possible 56 ends played!

Thank you to the committee, the players and the subs for making the season a great one. Special thanks to Jenny for organising not just the committee, but the ice, the teams and the rink itself. She does so much behind the scenes which allows the season to go without a hitch!

AGM and Prize-giving

On Wednesday the 17th of April, Currie and Balerno Curling Club had their AGM at Currie Rugby Club. The meeting was chaired excellently by our President, Betty Gibb with Secretary Jenny Barr and Treasurer Dave Munro filling in the top table.

Following this was the prize-giving. The winners of this year are as follows:

Kettle: John Steven, Jenny Barr, Sarah Ford and Sheena Munro

Harlaw Cup: Brian Fleming, Andrew Galloway, Lois Copland and Donald Kennedy

Doubles: Andrew Galloway, David Aitken and Holly Davis

Points Shield: Jennifer Marshall

Butter dish (Second in Points): Dave Munro

Rosebank Cup (Ladies Points): Jennifer Marshall

Lymphoy Cup: Niall Gunn, Rowena Steven, Morna Aitken and Stuart Ronald

Glenbrook Quaich: (Megan Priestley), Jennifer Marshall, Lois Copland, Graham Paterson and Sian Stockwell

Tom Holmes Trophy: Josh Kellock, Jenny Barr, Morag Wellman and Karen Munro

Thank you to the whole club for a fantastic season with some very competitive competitions! I'd also like to thank the committee, especially Jenny Barr, without whom the entire club could not function!
