Results and League Table Round 6

This is the competition that continues to give!  With one round to go, there are still three teams in with a chance of the Kettle.  Here's the scores grid for the sixth round.

Team 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
F A E F A E F A E F A E F A E F A E F A E F A E
N Gunn       8 6 4 6 7 5 4 6 3 9 8 3 5 12 2 4 9 4
K Clark 6 8 4       6 5 5 12 2 7 7 10 3 9 5 5       12 1 7
J Steven 7 6 3 5 6 3       4 11 2 10 4 6       4 13 3 9 3 4
S Kesley 6 4 4 2 12 1 11 4 5             11 1 6 7 7 4 7 6 4
K Wood 8 9 5 10 7 4 4 10 2             3 9 1 8 8 3 7 4 3
J Barr 12 5 5 5 9 2       1 11 1 9 3 4       9 6 4 3 6 3
D Munro 9 4 4       13 4 4 7 7 3 8 8 4 6 9 3       9 2 5
M Wood       1 12 1 3 9 2 6 7 3 4 7 4 6 3 4 2 9 2

The three teams at the top of the table continued on their winning ways, with big wins especially for Susan Kesley v Jenny Barr and for Kerry Clark v Mike Wood.  Dave Munro's game against Niall Gunn was perhaps tighter than the score line suggests, though two threes helped their cause.

Lots of subs out tonight as well; many thanks to them all for helping out and it was especially nice to see Douglas Burns back for a C & B night in Edinburgh now that he is based in Inverness.  Thanks also to the non-club members who helped out on this busy night.

Here's the league table.

Position Team Played Ends Shots u/(d) Shots scored Points
1 Kesley 6 24 10 44 9
2 K Clark 6 31 21 46 8
3 Munro 6 23 18 52 8
4 J Steven 6 21 -4 36 6
5 J Barr 6 19 -1 39 6
6 K Wood 6 18 -7 40 5
7 N Gunn 6 21 -12 36 4
8 M Wood 6 16 -25 22 2

The next round sees Mike Wood play Niall Gunn for bottom of the table honours.  Tie of the night sees third-placed Dave Munro take on second-placed Kerry Clark.  A draw is no good to Dave as he is eight ends behind Kerry.  He needs to win and move to ten points.  He would be guaranteed second place and the Harlaw trophy.  If Kerry wins, then she would move to 10 points and be guaranteed at least second place in the league.

Susan Kesley takes on Katie Wood.  A win, and she wins the league.  A draw and it all depends.  If Kerry wins her game and Susan draws, the chances are that Kerry will win the league; she has the better ends score.  But if Dave wins, then it's much closer - there's only one end between the two teams.

Perm two out of three for the podium places.  For John Steven and Jenny Barr, though they can both get to eight points, their chances of second place are scuppered by the fact that Kerry plays Dave in the last round.

Great stuff!
