Mind you, Kerry Clark and her team of Raymond Preston, Maggie Barry and substitute Julia MacKay must have wondered where it was all going wrong when they found themselves 4-1 down against the other team on eight points going into this game, team Dave Munro. Dave, Rowena Steven, Richard Alexander and Richie Anderson then held Kerry to a single in the fourth end. What's not to like about a two-shot lead with the hammer going into the fifth end of a seven-end game?
Kerry then went on to steal a three and two singles in the last three ends to secure a 7-4 win. That takes the Clark team to 10 points and the lead for the moment.
In the other game, Mike Wood managed a good win against Niall Gunn in an eight-end game. He ended up still three ends behind Niall, so did not quite manage to climb off the bottom of the league table.
Here is the score grid.
Looking at the league table for a moment, it is still in Susan Kesley's hands. Susan wins and she wins the league. A draw is not good enough because she is so many ends behind Kerry's team. The only certainty is that six teams will be trophy-less at the end of the Kettle competition. Who wins the Kettle? Who wins the Harlaw Trophy? Who knows?
