Success in the Sellar Trophy

Edinburgh Curling Club's most prestigious annual open ladies competition is the Sellar trophy, which has regularly attracted teams from a' the airts and pairts.  This year, I am delighted to report that the competition was won by C&B's own Maggie Barry, aided and abetted by Betty Gibb.  Last year, Maggie skipped a team to low road success; this year, she and her team mates went one better, winning the high road.

The competition is run over three days in two sections, with the top two from each section qualifying for the knock-out stages (semi-finals and final).  The Barry team won two of their section games and peeled the other, so qualified for the semi-final stage.  Past-president Margaret Nicol reports that the more the team played together, the better they got; both their semi-final and final victories were resounding successes for the team.

Here's a picture of the winning team.
