Lymphoy Cup Round 7 Results and League Table

All four games went ahead this evening and it is testament to the closeness of the run-in for the Glenbrook Trophy that three of the four still had  a bearing on the destination of the trophy.

Brian Fleming had to beat Shona Watt and hope that both Bob Barr and Robin Copland slipped up.  Well Brian, Maggie Barry, Donald Kennedy and substitute Ian Keron did their bit, but sadly for them, neither Bob nor Robin did the banana skin thing, so the best they can hope for (with Niall Gunn, of course) is third place.

Robin, Betty Gibb, Susan MacFarlane and substitute Holly Davis won a titanic struggle against Jenny Barr with a valuable steal of two in their last end.  This keeps them (with Josh Kellock) very much in the hunt.

Bob Barr, John Penny, Karen Munro and Graeme Maguire had a great win against Andrew Galloway to move them onto ten points and within touching distance of the trophy.

There is one game remaining in the league and that will take place tomorrow morning at 9.30.  The game is between Bob Barr in second place and Robin Copland, currently in fourth.

Here's the results grid.

And now the league table.

So here's the story.  Bob just needs to win or draw.  He wins the Glenbrook Trophy.  If Robin wins and manages to match or beat Bob's ends total, then, he wins the trophy on 10 points and ends won.  Bob could lose the game and still win the Glenbrook trophy if he manages to score two more ends than Robin.  If he loses the game and wins four ends to Robin's three, for example, then it would go to shots-up.  Currently Bob is 16 shots up to Robin's 14.  Do the maths yourself because my brain hurts!

More tomorrow!
