After tonight's games, Shona remains the only undefeated team in the league and they have a healthy ends total.
Niall, skipping in Brian's absence, had a topsy-turvy game against Bob Barr with John Penny throwing third stones. It started off topsy enough, but then it all went a bit turvy and he came out the wrong end of the result. This result brings Bob right back into the reckoning with a game in hand and four points on the board.
Rowena Steven, skipping in Susan Kesley's absence had absolutely no rubs of the green at all and, despite the horrible looking score, played some lovely stones that just needed a bit of a rub here or a sweep there. The score flatters Robin Copland, though he, Betty Gibb, Susan MacFarlane and Josh Kellock will take it.
John Steven was not a happy boy. He lost a big four to an on-fire Morna Aitken, who had substitutes Gina Aitken (not a bad substitute to have in your team!), Mark Munro (not a bad substitute to have in your team) and Carrington's very own Kirsty Galloway (not a bad - yes, yes, yes, we've been here already) backing her up.
Here's the results grid.
And the league table, at exactly the halfway stage of the competition, looks something like this.
|Position||Team||Played||Ends||Shots u/(d)||Shots scored||Points|
Jenny and Susan, though only on two points at this stage, could both still get to 10 and worse scores than that have got some kind of silverware in times past, so it's still all to play for. Bob Barr is tucked handily behind the two leading teams, but has a game in hand over Robin. Shona Watt is looking very good indeed on six points after three games and the rest are still in the hunt.
