Kettle Trophy Round 6.1 Results and League Table

Definitely getting to the denouement of the competition and a couple of things were decided at the lower end of the table but the top still remains intriguing.  Here's the scores and results grid first of all...

Team 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
F A E F A E F A E F A E F A E F A E F A E F A E
S Kesley 8 3 5 5 6 4 4 7 4 7 10 4 3 8 3 4 8 3
K Wood 3 8 2 4 6 2 4 6 3 6 7 4 3 10 2 6 4 5
J Barr 6 5 3 6 4 5 10 2 6 2 9 1 4 7 3
K Clark 7 4 3 6 4 4 2 10 1 7 7 4 7 3 5
K Munro 10 7 4 7 6 4 2 13 1 10 6 3 4 9 2

R Copland 4 6 3 9 2 6 7 7 3 6 10 3 7 8 4 8 4 4
B Fleming 8 4 4 7 4 4 3 7 2 9 4 5 14 6 5 4 8 3
this was an important win for Brian and his troops and it takes him to the top of the table, albeit that both John Steven and Kerry Barr have a game in hand - so both could still leapfrog him when they play their games next Friday.  Here is the league table as it stands now...

Position Team Played Ends Shots u/(d) Shots scored Points
1 B Fleming 6 23 12 45 8
2 J Steven 5 21 16 45 8
3 K Clark 5 17 1 29 7
4 J Barr 5 18 1 28 6
5 K Munro 5 14 -8 33 6
6 R Copland 6 23 4 41 5
7 S Kesley 6 23 -11 31 2
8 K Wood 6 18 -15 22 2

Kerry Clark, Brian Fleming and John Steven are all vying for the silverware come the end of the competition.  Jenny Barr (plays Karen Munro and John Steven in her last two games) could get to 10 points and crucially take two points off John.  Karen Munro (plays Kerry Clark and Jenny Barr) is in the same position.  The Kerry Clark v Jenny Barr becomes an important one for both teams.

John Steven plays Kerry Clark and Jenny Barr.  Ouch.  Brian Fleming has already played his sixth game and faces Katie Wood fresh from her victory over Robin Copland, in their last game of the tournament.

Kerry Clark wins both her games, goes to 11 points, crucially having beaten John Steven.  She could win the competition outright.

John Steven wins both his games, goes to 12 points, crucially having beaten Kerry Clark and he wins the competition.  The John v Kerry C game is important.

The most that Brian can get to is 10 points (only one more game).  He is reliant on the other results and knows that one of Kerry C / John S will either win two points, or share the points, one each in their game against each other.  A drawn game between them, followed by two wins means that both overhaul his ten points.  Realistically, second place beckons at best.

For Karen M and Jenny B, they need to hope that the lower placed teams beat the higher placed teams and that they both win their games.  Outside chance of runners-up for both?

For Robin, Susan and Katie, the wind started blowing through the deserted gold rush town many moons ago.  Their time has been and may well be in the future, but they are well and truly goosed with a capital G in the Kettle trophy 2019!
