Great Day of Fun and Fellowship at the Tom Holmes

... and Betty Gibb Gets her Name on the Trophy!

One of the highlights of the Currie and Balerno year is the Tom Holmes competition and supper.   President Katie reminded us of the history and you can read all about it here.  Suffice to say that it is a proper curling competition of the old-fashioned type and is none the worse for that.  It was good to meet up with club stalwarts Jimmy Barr and Alistair Weir at the traditional curlers' supper in the ECC club rooms after the curling.

Talking of which, it was lucky for Mrs Gibb and her team that they met Mrs Copland and her team in the last game.  Mrs Copland was in a most forgiving mood and gave away three ends.  This enabled Mrs Gibb to equal Mrs MacFarlane on ends and to pip her on shots-up.

Grand day all round!
