Lymphoy Cup Round 6 finished

The 4 final teams to complete round 6 did so on Friday 14th March. My team were against Brian Fleming's and my Dad's were again Jen's.

My game was a race for the wooden spoon and despite my best efforts (I will be dreaming of the angled tap up I had to make on the 5th end for a while!) it looks like we may be the recipients of said spoon...Brian's team were on fire.

On the other sheet, a middle table challenge was on. Jen was victorious, snatching a 3 in the second to last end to seal the deal.

Next Fridays games are going to be interesting. The only real game to watching will be Mike Wood vs Kerry Clark. If Mike wins or draws, he will win the Lymphoy. If Kerry wins, she will leapfrog him into the top spot. Should be an interesting game!

Lymphoy Cup Round 5.75 and 6.5

On the 7th of March, we had our first 4 sheet game in a while! It was really nice to see everyone out on the ice and nicer still was people staying for a meal afterwards.

On the ice we had John Steven vs Dave Munro. If John had won this game, it would have put him in serious contention for the trophy but Dave held his ground winning 6-5 (with one end coming down to a measure where the winning stone was literally a millimetre closer to the centre, so close the thirds couldn't decide!).

On my game against Andrew Galloway, I had a strong start then Andrew's team made a comeback to peel the game 5-5. Another peel was had in Kerry's game against Brian. That peel may have lost Kerry the title! It will all come down to her game against Mike Wood's team in the last game!

Jennifer's team had a tricky game against Mike but Mike did come out on top.

Anyway, league table:

Lymphoy Cup Round 4 complete and 5.5

Last Friday (28th of February) saw Dave and Karen Munro's teams finally complete Round 4 of the Lymphoy, meaning we are over halfway through the competition and it is very close at the top!

John Steven's team were against Karen's, however John and third, Morna, were away representing Currie and Balerno at the Rink Championships up in Perth. John brought in new club member, Andy McDiarmid to skip and had Rachel Macrae at lead. They played out of their skins and Karen (me) was left with some difficult circus shots! It was tough!

I don't want to speak on Andrew Galloway's behalf but I hope he felt my sympathies from the sheet over after a lose against my Dad.

Any way...enough about those games! The league table:
