Kettle Round 6.2

Last game of 2024 took place on the 20th of December with the last 4 teams competing in round 6 (only one more round to go!).

Jenny Barr's team are finally off the start line with a win over Katie Wood's team in a real back and forth happening between the teams. 

Over on the other sheet, Brian Fleming's team were victorious over John Steven's team. 

With one more round to go, it is very close at the top. A win from either Brian or Karen will give them the trophy, unless both win then it'll come down to ends, of which Karen currently has more of. If both lose and Shona's team is victorious, she will take the trophy so January 3rd will be one to watch!

*Edit to score sheet - It has been brought to my attention that I had entered the wrong number of ends from the Watt - Gunn game back on the 22nd of November. This has been amended.*

Kettle Round 6.1

 My work Christmas party prevented me from playing on Friday and after speaking to my third, Josh, the following day, the less said about the game the better!

On the other sheet, Niall's team, short a player, took on Kerry's team and although they fought a brave fight, the night was Kerry's.

Kettle Round 5.2

On the 6th of December, it was the turn of the other 4 teams to complete Round 5. From the looks of the scorecards, it was an interesting night! 

John Steven was up against Niall Gunn and an eight end back and forth ended with John winning by 1 point!

On the other sheet, Kerry was up against Brian. Kerry took an early lead with and 2 and a 1, then Brian's team (skipped by Vicky) got their only score of a 2 in the 3rd end. Kerry then took more ones and twos to win the game.

Both sheets managed to get 8 ends in which is pretty impressive and will add to each of their end counts for the chance of a prize at the end of the season for most ends played!

Kettle Round 5.1

On the 29th of November, the first 4 teams of Round 5 took to the ice, Jenny Barr hoping to get her first win and Karen Munro (i.e., me!) hoping to keep her top spot on the league table.

I had a great first end, somehow managing to get a 4. It was getting a little closer until the 5th end when my team and I got another 4 and then the final end was the final nail with my team taking a 5.

On the other sheet, Jenny started the scoring with a 1 but a 4 followed by a 2 from Shona Watt's team made it difficult to come back from.
